Germantown Tool and Manufacturing was one of the first metal fabricators in the region to not only recognize the benefits of robotic welding, but to offer this capability to the market. Robotic welding offers several distinct advantages over conventional hand welding:
Robotic welding yields consistent, even beads, resulting in higher quality, increased strength, and improved cosmetic appearance.
Robotic welders can achieve throughput rates 4-5x those of conventional hand welding. This results in faster turnaround times and reduced production costs.
“Missed welds” are eliminated, resulting in less scrap and rework.
Germantown Tool currently operates a total of seven robotic welding cells, each equipped with Fanuc robots and Lincoln Electric power supplies. All welding tables are designed and built in-house to ensure quick setup and breakdown, as well as part-to-part and lot-to-lot consistency, thus reducing downtime and enhancing productivity.
Another important contributor to consistent, high-quality welds is weld fixture design. For that reason, all Germantown Tool weld fixtures are designed and built in-house by our experienced toolmakers.
Robotic welding allows Germantown Tool to offer consistent, high-quality welded assemblies to a variety of industries, including the automotive, commercial lawn care equipment, recreation/leisure, truck & trailer, office furniture, and general industrial markets.
Germantown Tool assemblies can be as simple as two short-welded components, or as complicated as a 20-component welded assembly consisting of metal stampings, studs, and shafts. From the simple to the complex, Germantown Tool & Manufacturing can satisfy your most demanding welding requirements.
